CM flags first six-car metro train in green line

Bengaluru: Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy on Monday flagged off the first six-car metro train in green line between Yelachenahalli and Nagasandra.

BMRCL has also inducted two more six-car trains on Purple line between Byappanahalli and Mysuru road which is all set to operate the six-car trains, with a capacity to carry close to 2,000 passengers, during the peak hours. 

The feature of the new train includes split screen in LCD panel in continuous advertisement display without disturbing the passenger information.

According to BMRCL, an average of four lakh passengers are travelling in both lines. The Purple Line is 18.1 km long and has 17 stations while the Green Line has a length of 24.20 km, and has 23 stations. The first Coach of the six-car metro train is reserved for women commuters.

The train has improved energy saving feature with an expected energy saving of 15% in comparison with the three-car trains, informed metro officials.

Kumaraswamy after inaugurating the first six-car metro train in green line spoke about the death of a one-and-half-year-old girl who fell from Namma Metro’s escalator at Srirampura station and said that he has directed BMRCL officials to take care of such accidents and also asked the parents have to take care of their kids while travelling on the metro.
