Mangaluru: “By withdrawing 142 pending cases across the state, the coalition government has shown its ‘anti-Hindu’ policy,” said VHP regional secretary Sharan Pumpwell speaking to the media here on Thursday, April 4.

“As many as 142 cases, including rioting, molestation, assault on police officials, and attempt to murder from across the state have been withdrawn on the directions of the government. Those include two cases registered at Uppinangady police station and Mangaluru rural police station against Muslims for heinous crimes,” he said.

“Unfortunately during both the incidents, cases were registered against Hindus too which have not been withdrawn. The state government has taken the step of withdrawing cases just to appease the Muslim community. We had protested against the infamous Ulaibettu incident and we were arrested, but cases registered against us have not been withdrawn,” he added.

“We condemn the move made by the state government just to appease Muslim community. We demand them to withdraw the cases registered against Hindus also,” said Sharan.
