Commotion over whistling in pub: Man hospitalized with serious head injuries

Bengaluru: A commotion broke out on Wednesday over whistling in a pub at HSR Police station limits, sources said.

Suryakant, who is a Begur-based real estate agent, was allegedly hit on the head with a beer bottle for whistling in the pub. He sustained serious injuries and is undergoing treatment at a hospital, sources added.

On the evening of Wednesday, a group of 15 friends of Kerala origin arrived at a pub located at 17th cross, HSR 3rd phase for a birthday party. At the same time, Suryakanth was at the pub with his friends.

According to sources, the altercation broke out after the group of friends objected to Suryakanth whistling in the restroom of the pub. It soon turned into a full-blown fisticuff and Suryakanth was hit on the head with the beer bottle.

The young men then ran away from the spot, before the police could arrive.
