Bengaluru: A Congress delegation led by former minister H K Patil met with Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri on Sunday, demanding an investigation into the “disappearance of about 19 lakh Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs)” in the country.
The delegation submitted a 2,750-pages long document detailing the cases of EVM disappearances and appealed for an independent investigation by the Election Commission of India on the matter.
An independent inquiry is required for avoiding any doubt in the minds of the electorate and as a good practice for electoral reforms, he said.
The document submitted to the Speaker details the evidence and paperwork related to the missing 19 lakh EVMs, he claimed.
