Mangaluru: Karnataka BJP state president B.Y. Vijayendra launched a scathing attack on the ruling Congress government stating that it has lost popularity within six months of coming to power

B.Y. Vijayendra who was recently elected as the new state president of BJP was accorded a warm welcome during his maiden visit to Mangaluru here.

Speaking on the occasion, Vijayendra demanded Zameer Ahmed’s resignation over his controversial ‘ Muslim Speaker’ remark alleging that it characterized as a display of bias.

He lashed out at the state government saying that instead of taking relief measures for the farmers of the drought-affected state on priority, Congress is having a discussion about winning the next Lok Sabha elections and appointments to the corporation board adding that this is an insult to the farmers.

Further he criticised the Congress over the acute power shortage in Karnataka. Vijayendra quipped that the BJP government was able to supply electricity even in the summer season, however now the scenario has worsened.
