Bengaluru: Congress leveled serious allegations that BJP MLA and former minister Ramesh Jarkiholi had plundered Rs 819 crores in the irregularities at a Sugar factory.
Speaking to reporters at the KPCC office on Sunday, KPCC spokesperson M Laxman said that there had been financial irregularities at Sowbagiya Lakshmi Sugars, where Ramesh Jarkiholi and 8 members of his immediate family were shareholders.
He claimed that a person named Abhinandan Patil owns the Benami property amassed by Ramesh Jarkiholi. Though Swobhagya Lakshmi Sugars is shown to be under a loss, profits made by the company are being siphoned off by the directors of the company, including Ramesh’s family, he alleged.
M Laxman also alleged that the Amit Shah, Devendra Fadnavis, and Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai were also involved in the irregularities.
