Congress promises separate ministry, voting rights for NRIs: Dr. Aarthi Krishna

In a recent gathering organized by the Udupi Block Congress Committee, the Vice-chairman of the NRI Forum Karnataka, Dr. Aarthi Krishna, expressed confidence in the Congress party’s prospects in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Dr. Krishna emphasized the party’s commitment to providing secure administration and improving the lives of the people.

Highlighting the party’s vision for governance, Dr Krishna announced plans to establish a separate ministry to address the grievances of Non-Resident Indians (NRI) if Congress forms the government at the Centre. The proposal aims to bolster support among the diaspora community, she said.

Addressing the gathering at the Congress Bhawan in Brahmagiri, Udupi, Dr. Krishna lauded the Congress for its efforts in positioning India among the world’s leading nations. She credited the party’s policies focusing on essential needs such as food, shelter, literacy, health, and overall development for this achievement.

“With the pro-people schemes provided to the citizens of the state, there is a sense of gratitude among the voters. With their blessings, the party is confident of securing 20 seats in the state,” she said.

The meeting, chaired by Udupi Block Congress Committee President Ramesh Kanchan, saw the presence of prominent party leaders including KPCC Vice President M A Gafoor and District Congress Working President Kishan Hegde Kolkebailu. Various party officials, election in-charges, municipal councilors, and leaders attended the event.
