“JDS leader and former chief minister Kumaraswamy will not get the chance to Kingmaker this time,” said DK Shivakumar.

In an interview with Udayavani, he expressed confidence in the Congress party’s victory in the upcoming state elections, stating that Congress would get a full majority and form the government on its own strength by winning 140 seats.

He claimed that Congress has gained momentum in the state, including in the coastal, Malenadu, and Kittur-Kalyana Karnataka regions.

He also mentioned that both BJP and Congress had conducted surveys, and BJP had lost confidence and knew they would not come to power.

Shivakumar spoke about the issue of leadership in the state, stating that the high command and MLAs would decide who would become the Chief Minister, but he expressed his admiration for senior Congress leader Mallikarjuna Kharge, saying that he is a role model for the party.

He accused BJP of losing the trust of the people due to lack of leadership and resorting to communal polarization, which did not work. He also alleged that the central investigating agencies constantly harassed him and the party leaders with IT and ED notices.

Shivakumar expressed confidence that the Congress party’s promises of corruption-free governance, clean administration, free electricity, and rice for the poor, incentives for unemployed youth, and other measures would earn them the voters’ support.

He admitted to ticket distribution problems and potential rebellion, but he believed that the Congress wave in the state would overcome these issues.
