Bengaluru: Six major products used in combat against COVID-19 that were until now imported from abroad have now been developed indigenously by scientists and researchers at Bengaluru. With this, the state has gained a significant lead in its war against COVID-19. These products have been developed by various startups engaged in research under the Bengaluru Bio-Innovation Center under the Department of Innovation and Technology of the State so that the State can reduce most of its foreign dependence. Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Atmanibhar India program said Innovation and Technology and Deputy Chief Minister C.N. Ashwath Narayan on Tuesday. These six products have been released and are accredited by the Indian Council of Medical Research. From today onwards, all of them will be available for purchase. The government will provide all kinds of incentives for these products, Narayan told reporters. These products were made by our young researchers and scientists in a very short time. These are of better quality than the products we imported and are much advanced. Not only Karnataka, but these are also a huge force-enhancer in India's fight against COVID-19. I congratulate all concerned, the DyCM said. Ramanreddy, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Innovation and Technology; Dr Jitendra Kumar, Managing Director of Bengaluru Bio-Innovation Center; P Pradeep, Secretary to the Deputy Chief Minister and others were present.
