Covid 19 testing rates slashed in Karnataka

Bengaluru: The Karnataka Government on Wednesday notified that the Covid 19 testing rates have been decreased across the state.

According to the revised price list, the cost of sample collection and transportation of private samples to the testing lab remains Rs. 400. In case of the RTPCR test, Covid 19 samples sent by the government to private labs will cost Rs. 500 from the existing cost of Rs. 800. The cost for RTCPR test for testing samples given at private laboratories, directly has been reduced to Rs. 800 from the former price of Rs. 1200.

Covid 19 test for privately collected samples at home by the private labs now costs Rs. 1200, down from Rs. 1600.

The prices have been revised for each sample tested using different methods such as TrueNat, CBNAAT, Rapid Antibody test/ ELISA test.

The testing prices for the samples collected at the private labs;

TrueNat test has been cut down from Rs.2200 to Rs.1250,

CBNAAT test has been cut from Rs. 3800 to Rs. 2400 whereas the Rapid Antibody Test/ELISA will continue to cost Rs.500.

The testing prices for the samples collected at home by the private labs,

TrueNAT test has been slammed down from Rs. 2600 to Rs. 1650,

CBNAAT test has been slammed down from Rs. 4200 to Rs. 2800 and the Rapid Antigen test from Rs.700 to Rs. 400.

The rates include the cost of PPE kits, screening and confirmatory tests.
