A couple, who opted to buy a second-hand sofa were left utterly disgusted after they found thousands of fingernail clippings in it.
Jess Louise, of Larne, Co Antrim in Northern Ireland purchased the second-hand sofa as they were not in a position to buy a brand new one and was happy with it until the finding.
Taking to Facebook, Jess wrote “Recently my sofa broke and I was not in a position to buy a brand new one. I also knew buying a new one would lead to a lot of stress with two dogs bounding about the house, I’d be so protective of it. This led me to looking for a second hand sofa.”

She said, “Upon inspection and multiple gags later, we retrieved not hundreds but thousands of finger nails of varying sizes. I don’t know the rate of nail growth this person has but they must have been on some kind of growth supplements; or had about 10 extra hands/feet.”
Jess wrote, “We then hoovered out the remaining nails, it sounded like uncooked rice being hoovered up. My goodness I have never been so disgusted in my entire life.”
She urged people to check their second-hand stuff thoroughly.
Jess initially did not post a picture of the discovery, saying, “It will be in violation of almost every law on this planet.” But she decided to share it after people got curious.
One user said, “Omg how old was that couch cause that’s years of build-up of clipped nails.” Another wrote, “It takes a lot to gross me out and this sure did it. How incredibly disgusting lol.”
A third user added, “That’s not normal. Sure these people weren’t serial killers?” Yet another posted, “That is filth.”
