The study, conducted using 26 participants ranging between 70 and 80 years old, found that people who consumed regular beet juice-filled nitrates, had a higher growth of oral bacteria in the mouth.

The body converts nitrates into nitric oxide which can kill bacteria and protect the brain and stimulate brain function, relaxing the blood vessels and they expand which improves blood circulation, bringing more oxygen to the body’s key organs, the heart, and the brain.
Also, another study found that a glass of beet juice can lower blood pressure in people with hypertension.
