Driver killed after fish-laden vehicle rams into pole

Udupi: In a tragic accident, a man was killed after the fish vehicle he was driving collided with a pole near Santhekatte on NH 66 in the wee hours of Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Taufeek (28).

The accident took place when Taufeek swerved his vehicle to avoid hitting an elderly man. The cleaner of the vehicle sustained minor injuries in the mishap.

A case has been registered.
