Kaup: Centres distributing Ayushman Bharat-Arogya Karnataka cards in Udupi district have come to the notice of the Election Commission. In accordance to its direction, the card distribution has been stopped temporarily. The election commission has informed the agencies to temporarily stop the registration and distribution of the cards to the beneficiaries at the common Seva Kendras until the completion of the election process. Accordingly, the Seva Kendra’s have stopped the service. In Udupi district, more than 15 Seva Sindhu Kendras are providing the service, but now thousands of people are facing problem. The centres are also facing a loss in business. Why stopped? Opportunity was provided at the common Seva Kendras for registration and distribution of Ayushman Bharat-Arogya Karnataka cards. But in the backdrop of the election, and with the chance that political parties might take undue profit of this during election, the election commission directed the stopping of the services in Udupi district. Seva Sindhu Centers Even though there are more than 145 Seva Sindhu Kendras registered in the district, only 10 to 15 centres are providing quality service. Since Ayushman Bharat-Arogya Karnataka cards were included in the service provided by the Seva Sindhu Kendra , all centres attempted to get the ID to their centre. But the concerned officials provided this registration facility to those centres which were providing the other normal services properly. More than 200 government facilities More than 200 services of the state and the union governments are available at the common seva kendras. Since most of the services are available under a single window, daily hundreds of people visit the centres to get registered, procure identification card and to avail other facilities. In the backdrop of the allegation that the workers of political parties bring people here in groups and misusing it, hence it is being said that the election commission decided to stop the service. Service resumption post election There are 145 common seva Kendra and digital seva kendras in Udupi district. Ayushman Bharat-Arogya Karnataka ID cards are being provided at 15 centers. The present stop in the service is temporary and will resume back to normal post the elections. For those who need the card desperately, they can personally visit the district hospital and get the Arogya card informed officials of the Ayushman Bharat-Arogya Karnataka scheme. What about Dakshina Kannada? No such problem has occurred in Dakshina Kannada. Ayushman Bharat-Arogya Karnataka service is provided at the common seva kendras inform sources. “The district hospital has been directed to provide problem free service to the patients visiting it for registering under Ayushman Bharat-Arogya Karnataka scheme. Due to the model code of conduct, the inclusion of new names has been stopped temporarily.
