Edict belonging to Alupa dynasty found

Kundapur: A rock edict belonging to the Alupa dynasty of the 7th-8th CE era has been found at Hattiyangadi in Kanyana village here. Lecturer of Sharada College Prof| Purushottam Balyaya, Pradeep Kumar Basrur and retires lecturer Prof|B Bhaskar Shetty located the edict. It is learnt that the rock edict belongs to a Alupa ruler of the 2nd century CE. The edict contains the words Pandya Alupendra Pattiyapuri (Hattiyangadi) and Bhattaraka, and the edict has been inscribed on either sides of the stone. The 8th century CE Belmannu brass edict and Polali Ammonji edict of the Pandya clan status can be observed in it.
