The MLA recalled that the scheme was introduced by the then Chief Minister Siddaramiah and suggested that the financial assistance be extended to all communities and the scheme be re-christened as ‘Maduve Bhagya’

In his tweet to the CM, the MLA urged H D Kumaraswamy, to stop differentiating between communities and make the scheme applicable to all.

“You have undertaken the village stay initiative. You would have realized the bleak future Hindu girls from rural areas face. If you are really committed to the empowerment of all classes of the society, you should give up the path of differentiating between communities and convert ‘Shaadi Bhagya’ which is extended to only minorities into ‘Maduve Bhagya’ by including everyone,” he said in his tweet and also requested the CM to extend the scheme to people from all religions.
