Five of family die on spot after bus-car collides

Bengaluru: A visit to Dharmasthala temple turned fatal to a family after the car they were travelling collided with a KSRTC bus near Nelamangala-Kunigal highway killing them on spot during late hours of Monday, March 4.

The deceased are identified as  Elumalai (43), wife Kamala (35), sons, Kiran (14), Giridhar (12) and daughter Geetha (10), residents of Pantharapalya in Mysore Road.

According to the sources, when the accident took place the family was returning home after visiting Dharmasthala temple. Elumalai who was driving the car rashly lost control over his car and hit the divider after which the vehicle topple and hit the KSRTC Volvo bus coming from the opposite side and as the result, all the five died on spot.

Meanwhile, some of the passengers of the KSRTC bus sustained minor injuries.

The bodies were then taken out of the car and was shifted to Nelamangala Government hospital.

After conducting the postmortem the bodies were handed over to their relatives, informed sources.

Bengaluru Rural superintendent of police Sujit visited the accident spot and carried out the investigation.
