Speaking at a press conference, Sanil said “May 28 will be marked a black day for sports persons. A sportswoman was brutally thrashed on the streets by Delhi police for protesting against the same. The Delhi police have also insulted the Indian national flag.”

Highlighting her own experience as an athlete, Sanil said, “The wrestlers were thrashed with the police boots. When they won the medals, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was ready to click pictures along with them, but could not give justice to the same sportswomen. This kind of behavior with the players who have brought laurels to the country is wrong and condemnable.”

Sanil raised questions about the true understanding of the phrase ‘Sathyameva Jayate’ inscribed in front of the new Parliament building, stating, “Does the government know its significance? It appears that the BJP government refuses to take action against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh solely because he is a Member of Parliament affiliated with their party.”

Sanil demanded accountability, stating, “Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh should resign from his position, and strict action must be taken against him if Prime Minister Modi truly respects our sportspersons. We will promptly organize a protest against the mistreatment endured by the sportswomen at the hands of the Delhi police, and I personally intend to meet with those who were attacked.”
