Born in 1922 in a dedicated Patavari family in Bhalki, Keshavarav Nitturkar actively participated in India’s freedom struggle by joining the ‘Bharat Jodi Andolana’ in 1942. He completed his LLB from the University College of Law in Hyderabad in 1946 and entered politics in 1948 by joining the Indian National Congress. Alongside his political career, he began practicing law in 1952 at the Bhalki Court.
In 1953, he was appointed as a member of the Hyderabad Congress Committee. He served as a member of the Legislative Council for two terms between 1950 and 1972, and also held the position of Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Council. In 1980, he was elected as the President of the Bhalki Bar Association. Additionally, he served as the President of the Khadi Gramodyog Committee in 1986.
Until his passing, he held the position of Vice President at the Shantivardhak Educational Society and worked as the Legal Advisor for M.G.S.S.K. He was a respected figure for his contributions to both politics and society.
