Four arrested for obstructing police during drunk driving check in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: Kodigehalli police apprehended four individuals on allegations of police from discharging their duties during a drunk driving inspection. The suspects, identified as Naveen Kumar, Adesh, Abdul, and Kiran, all residents of Kodigehalli, were taken into custody following an incident at Ring Road near the Hebbal Circle on Saturday at midnight.

According to reports, a team from Hebbal traffic police station was conducting routine drunk driving checks along the ring road near Hebbal Circle when the confrontation occurred. Upon encountering the suspect vehicle, the driver, Naveen, was subjected to a breathalyzer test which confirmed his consumption of alcohol.

Subsequently, an altercation ensued between the three passengers in the vehicle and the traffic police officers.

Allegedly under the influence of alcohol, the trio engaged in verbal abuse towards the law enforcement officials, hindering their duties.

The police arrested all four individuals involved in the altercation. They have been charged with obstructing police duty.
