An animal lover, Nagendra got a horse from the race course in Mysuru seven years ago and has been raising it ever since. This pet of his has become the attraction of all schoolgoing children in the village.
Nagendra’s children study at the Nirajan Education Insitute of the Karapura Virakta Matha near his home. He has made it a habit to take his children riding on his pet horse to school.

His selfless work has received the praise of villagers and school authorities. Head Teacher at Niranjan Convent Yalandur Shamanth Mani says that children are happy and regular ever since Nagendra started bringing them to school on horseback. “One ride on the horseback and the children are happy and readily come to school,” he said.
