Ganja trafficking: Three arrested

Ullal: The anti-rowdy squad of the police has successfully busted the network which was peddling marijuana in Thokkottu. The cops have arrested three persons and seized assets worth Rs 1 lakh.

The arrested are identified as Mohammed Mustafa (21), a resident of Ashraya colony in Vamanjoor, Hasan Afran (20), a resident of Ulaibettu and Faizal Ahmed (36), a resident near Badriya Masjid in Shivajinagar Moodshedde. The police have spread a net to capture another two accused who were part of the network.

Mangaluru South ACP T Kodandarama received information that cannabis was being trafficked on a scooter and accordingly, the ACP led an operation with a team of anti-rowdy squad personnel, stopped the suspected two-wheeler at Naganakatte here and on inspection found 4 kg of Mary Jane. Ullal circle Inspector Gopikrishan was also part of the operation.

Of the accused, Mustafa is facing three cases in Mangaluru rural police station on various charges including murder and murder attempt, while the same station has cases booked against Faizal Ahmed regarding theft, murder and ganja trafficking.
