Geethartha Chinthane - 114: No One's Existence Can Be Destroyed

Even God does not destroy anyone’s existence, clarifies Lord Krishna himself. God’s role is merely to help things bloom, like a lotus. He neither creates nor destroys. Krishna explains in three ways that I, you, and everyone else exist eternally.

Often, we think it is enough if we exist during our lifetime. However, we should also wish for future generations to continue existing. The nature of demons is to believe, “If I don’t exist, the world shouldn’t exist either.” Krishna uses the term “Janadhipaah” (kings or leaders) to emphasize that everyone exists equally. While we may think the rich will live on while the poor perish, Krishna declares that even kings are subject to the same fate. In God’s justice, there is no distinction—emperors and commoners are treated alike. No one ceases to exist; only transformation occurs.

When someone dies, people often lament, “God could have taken me instead.” This sentiment arises from the belief “I am not meant to leave.” However, just as passengers disembark when their station arrives, it is natural for everyone to leave at their destined time.

Human beings often think of themselves as separate from others. In accidents or unforeseen events, there is no distinction—everyone departs equally, underscoring the truth that no one’s existence is ever truly destroyed.
