Geethartha Chinthane 26: Sorrowlessness in the 'Dasanudasa' Approach

If you achieve self-satisfaction, it’s like obtaining the ultimate fruit. All the honors you receive are merely extras. We become sad because we think in terms of an individual’s lifespan. After a hundred years, no one in this world will be around. Why should we worry about these temporary people? They are all transient. Who is eternal? The Lord alone. If you feel that it’s enough to receive love from God, what else do you need?

Atma means mind, life, supreme soul. Karma Yoga is mental karma. Whatever external karma is, it is only a response. Lord Krishna says in the Gita to think. But for how long? Only up to a limit. There is a saying in English: “Do your best, prepare for the worst.” We usually only think about the “best.” If we think about the “worst,” you will not be disheartened. When we consider ourselves “special,” it becomes difficult when others do not see us as “special.” However, there is no sorrow if we know we are not special, but rather the last person. This is why Lord Krishna advises us to surrender to Him (manmana bhava madbhakto…).
