The Coast Guard and local rescue teams quickly came to the scene. They managed to bring all the tourists safely back to shore. Thankfully, everyone was wearing life jackets, so there were no serious injuries, just some minor ones.
However, many personal items like mobile phones and bags were lost in the water and got damaged.
The Gokarna police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
