Dakshina Kannada has set a goal of growing paddy crops on 9,435 hectares during the advancing monsoon this year. Out of which, cropping has begun in more than 845 hectares. In Udupi, farming activity has started in 557 hectares of cropland out of the targetted 38,000 hectares.
In Dakshina Kannada, 452 quintals of paddy seeds of MO-4, Uma, Jyoti, and Jaya varieties have been distributed to farmers. Fertilizers have also been well-stocked for supplying the demand and are being distributed to farmers. To date, Urea (1504 tons), MOP (800 tons) and DAP (152 tons) have been distributed.
In Udupi, 1862 quintals of paddy seeds and 1682 tons of fertilizers have already been distributed for agricultural activity during the Monsoon season.
