Govt revokes licenses of 110 K'taka pharmacies for withholding data

Bengaluru: The Karnataka government has revoked the licences of 110 pharmacies after they failed to report the sales data of medicines used for for Influenza-like Illness (ILI) and Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI).

The action has been taken under provisions of the Karnataka Epidemic Disease (Covid-19) Regulation 2020.

The state government had earlier ordered all chemists, druggists and pharmacists to inform it about people purchasing medicines for fever, cough and cold, and other Covid-like symptoms.

Seventy of the pharmacies whose licences got revoked are in Kalaburagi, followed by Vijayapura 15 while Bengaluru has three.
