This move comes after progressive organizations and like-minded platform leaders called for a bandh on February 7, which was eventually withdrawn after discussions with the district administration.

Despite the withdrawal of the earlier bandh call, pro-Hindu organizations have decided to proceed with their bandh.

The Sri Rama Bhajana Mandali is scheduled to conduct a bike rally from the site of the flag pole in Keragodu village to the Veeranjaneyaswamy temple near Mandya railway station at 9 am today. Following this, a special pooja will be offered at the temple, and a silent procession will be carried out to the District Collector’s office via a padayatra, the organization said.

In preparation for the bandh, activists of pro-Hindu organizations have been seen distributing roses to traders and shop owners, urging them to cooperate with the bandh.
