The residents of Maranabeeda village in Hanagal taluk were plunged into mourning on Wednesday following the untimely demise of their beloved bull, Suryaputra.

Suryaputra, a local icon, captured the hearts of the villagers with its awe-inspiring performances in various competitions. The sudden news of its demise spread like wildfire, triggering an outpouring of grief among the residents. Instead of proceeding to the polling station to exercise their democratic right, the aggrieved villagers chose to gather near the mortal remains of their beloved Suryaputra.

However, recognizing the importance of democratic participation, village elders and community leaders stepped forward to persuade the grieving villagers to cast their votes. The villagers heeded the advice and reluctantly made their way to the polling booths.

Gradually, as the day progressed, a significant number of the mourning villagers embraced their responsibility and queued up at the polling stations.  It is learned that the villagers will hold the final rites of Suryaputra during the night on Wednesday.
