Addressing correspondents in Pavagada subsequent to participating in the inauguration of a temple, Gowda stated, “It is God’s blessing that a national party that has won 78 seats hosts supported a party that won 38 seats. Kumaraswamy is tormented that he didn’t get majority. God is testing him, in spite of giving him power. He needs to battle to pass this test.”
He said in spite of Kumaraswamy ensuring farmer loan waiver and pension for senior citizens, he failed to get majority. “The coalition government will most likely survive for a year. I don’t know what will happen from that point. However, the Congress has requested that Kumaraswamy fill in as chief minister for five years,” he said.
