High drama at NITK toll gate protests: Gang of transgenders attacks Asif

Surathkal: A group of transgenders allegedly attacked social activist ‘Apatbhandhava’ Asif, who has been protesting in a unique manner for the removal of the toll gate near NITK here for the past few days.

At about 12.30 a.m. last night, a group of transgenders then arrived at the protest site near the tollgate and allegedly verbally abused the protesters and assaulted the protesters gathered at the spot.

The live recording of the video was shared on Facebook Live. Transgenders were seen lifting their clothes and started dancing in an obscene manner.

The transgenders allegedly threatened to “knock down the protest platform and chase away” the protesters.

Police rushed to the spot and diffused the situation.
