Tabassum Mansoor, the Uttar Pradesh-born principal of the Indian School of Benghazi, negotiated with militants through Libyan authorities and tribal elders to secure the release of 7 abducted Indians.
The Indians, all employed with Al Shola Al Mudea energy company in Libya, were abducted when they were en route from Brega to the airport in Tripoli on September 13 to catch a flight to India.
Born in Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh), Mansoor has been staying in Libya for the last 40 years. Mansoor was entrusted with the task of coordinating the local operatives by India’s envoy to Tunisia, reports said. She personally went to Brega where captors handed over the Indians, reports added.
