I will support Shiroor seer if he gets BJP ticket: Raghupati Bhat

Udupi: Former MLA, K.Raghupati Bhat has said that he would support and campaign for Shiroor seer Lakshmivara Tirtha Swami If BJP gave ticket to contest in the upcoming polls.

Addressing the media, Bhat said that talks were made with Shiroor seer after he announced of his interest to contest in the upcoming polls.

However, Bhat clarified that the BJP party will choose candidates based on their work and survey.

“The party goes by surveys. But it can give ticket (to the seer),” he said.

The seer had said that Minister for Fisheries, Youth Empowerment and Sports Pramod Madhwaraj had done a good job as an MLA. “I suspect that the seer has given the statement to help Madhwraj in the polls. It appears that he indirectly wants to help Madhwaraj,” he said.

The ticket distribution is done by the party high command and BJP president Amit Shah,” he added.
