Mangaluru: Over 22 KSRTC buses ferried as many as 1,137 students from neighbouring state Kerala to attend II PU English exams in Dakshina Kannada district.
Kasaragod administration ferried all candidates till Talapady border and other Karnataka-Kerala border areas in Sullia.
After initial health screening, they were transported to respective examination centres in the district and after they finish, buses will drop them at border areas.
The DK administration made elaborate arrangements for 1,137 students from Kerala to appear for examinations in the district.
Any parents or relatives taking candidates to the examination centre by using private vehicles was prohibited.
Strict social distancing was followed in the bus arranged for the students. While only two students were allowed to sit in the three-seater sections, only one student was allowed in the two-seater section.
As many as eight areas in the Karnataka-Kerala border have been identified, where students from Kerala were requested to assemble between 7 am to 8 am.
The places are Mangaluru-Talapady border; Punyakoti Nagara, Mudipu; Bayaru, Vittal border; Saradaka Vittal border; Anekallu, Vittal border; Kayarpadavu, Puttur border; Panjikallu, Sullia border and Karike, Sullia border
