Incarcerated BD activist get death threat on FB

Mangaluru: A Bajrang Dal (BD) activist identified as Bharath Kumdel, who is in jail as an accused in the murder of Kalai Ashraf, has received a death threats from miscreants in Facebook (FB). The messages say that Bharat will be murdered to avenge the murder of Kalai Ashraf.


The open message on Facebook states that the body of Bharath Kumdel will be bundled soon.

The murder

On July 21, 2017 Bantwal taluk SDPI leader Ashraf Kalai was murdered in barbaric manner. The Bajrang Dal leader Bharath Kumdel was the prime suspect in the murder and subsequently the prime accused and his accomplices were arrested by the police. Post the incident, the district was shadowed by an atmosphere of unrest.

Murder accused Bharath has received bail from high court after being in jail for 16 months. Although he is yet to walk out of the prison, open death threats are being given against him on Facebook already.


So far no complaint has been lodged concerning the Facebook death threats.
