Incessant rains: Holiday declared for schools and PU colleges in Uttara Kannada & Shivamoggafor Monday

Amidst the persistent heavy rainfall in the region, the Uttara Kannada and Shivamogga district administrations have taken the precautionary measure of declaring a holiday for schools and pre-university (PU) colleges on Monday, July 24.

The Deputy Commissioners of Uttara Kannada and Shivamogga, on Sunday, announced that all Anganwadis, primary and high schools, as well as aided and private pre-university colleges, will remain closed on July 24.

Normal life has been disrupted by the heavy rains that continue to pound the region.

In Uttara Kannada, a large quantity of water is likely to be released from Kadra Dam to the Kali River as rains swelled the water flow into the dam.
