On July 22, Raghavendra, a software worker, became the victim of this gang.

Raghavendra had gone to the State Bank of India branch near his house near Sugama Layout, Nyanappanahalli and withdrew Rs 7 lakhs.

He kept the cash in the boot of his scooter and was returning home when he started to feel very itchy around his neck.

When he reached home, he ran inside to find relief from the itching and did not take the cash out of the scooter.

Later, Raghavendra received a call from a rickshaw driver saying he found a bag containing his bank passbook, which had his phone number to which he called, on a road near Devarachikkanahalli.

Raghavendra did not find the cash in the bag and soon filed a police complaint.

Police got CCTV footage from the bank and other places and found that the act was committed by six men on three motorbikes who threw the itch-causing substance on Raghavendra, followed him to his house and stole the money from his scooter.

Police have now started an investigation.
