Jamboree campers enjoy adventure training

Moodabidri: The campers at the International Cultural Jamboree of Scouts and Guides here are being introduced to adventure sports along with training on developing self-confidence, following eco-friendliness, and building morale.

Around 100 types of adventure games and activities are being held in the ‘Challenge Valley’ constructed in the hilly area behind Alva’s Primary School in Vivekananda Nagar for this purpose.

Young campers were seen facing their fears and overcoming them while performing physically demanding yet thrilling tasks including balancing beam walk, plank climbing, monkey bridge, wide ladder climbing, tire balance walking, monkey crawling, ladder crossing, and swinging plank.

After completing a particular activity, the students earned a stamp in their record book as proof of their accomplishment.

Adequate Precautions:

The organizers have deployed skilled trainers to oversee the adventure activities. To avoid accidents, all adventurous activities are monitored by these trainers. A first aid tent has also been set up for addressing any injuries sustained.

The activities are being supervised under the direction of Lead trainer Jimmy Sequeira of Kodagu. Baburao Nemmare, Shivanna Davanagere, and Chandru Bangalore are also assisting him.

Sequeira said that since the activities are being conducted in batches so as to accommodate all 55,000 campers participating in the jamboree.
