Kannada activists burn Goa minister’s ghost images and dummy figures

Bengaluru: The activists belonging to -Kannada organisations led by Kannada Chaluvali leader Vatal Nagaraj held a protest here on January 16 and burnt ghostly effigies and dummy figures of Goa water resources minister, demanding to remove him from the state cabinet.

After the absurd remarks made by the Goa’s Water Resources Minister Vinod Palienkar naming Kannadigas as “Haramis”, he again accused the government of Karnataka of being “habitual liars” over Mahadayi water dispute. This behaviour of the Goan minister has incensed the pro-Kannada organisations.

Enraged Pro-Kannada organisations took the matter to the streets at Mysuru Bank Circle in Bengaluru and burnt his images and dummy figures, and demanded the immediate removal of the Minster from Goa cabinet alleging that he has no control over his tongue.

Dr. Rajkumar Fans Association State President S R Govindu, Kannada Sene President K R Kumar, Shivaramegowda and Praveen Kumar Shetty representing Karnataka Rakshana Vedike, Manjunath Dev, President of Kannada Jagruthi Vedike and Kannada activist Girish Gowda were among the protesters.
