This year’s feast is beginning today, i.e. January 22. The festive masses will be held every day of the festival at regular intervals at the Basilica. Devotees of all faiths flock to the festival for prayers as well as to fulfill their vows.
Apart from the devotees who arrive for prayers, traders have opened shops at the festive fair to serve them. Popularly known as “Saant Mari of Karkala”, the trade fair with food stalls, entertainment, and games is also popular among the revelers.
Since the past 2 years’ celebrations were muted due to Covid pandemic-related restrictions, the mood this year has reached a new high. With the lifting of restrictions, the Attur feast has returned to its former glory.
