Karkala: Depressed after husband's death, Anganwadi teacher dies by suicide

A 39-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by jumping into a well near Miyaru in Karkala here on Friday, November 15.

The deceased identified as Soumya was working as an Anganwadi teacher in the community for the past 15 years with dedication.

Reportedly Soumya was suffering from depression following the death of her husband a month ago. It is suspected that she took the extreme step due to mental distress.
