Karkala: Tipper crashes into a tree; two dead

Karkala/Mangaluru: Two persons lost their life after the truck the tipper they were travelling in rammed into a tree at Chilimbi in Sanuru village here on Friday.

The deceased are identified as Ramananda (40) and Subhas (36) of Vamanjoor Gurpur. However, the tipper driver identified as Akbar survived the crash with minor injuries.

Ramanath is a resident of Vamanjoor Parari in Mangaluru taluk and was unmarried. He is survived by his mother and an elder brother. His mother, being ill, is presently admitted at a hospital.

Subhas is a resident near Polali Dwara in Gurpur and there is no further information regarding him. Both the men were working as loaders for the tipper.

The tipper which was proceeding from Sanuru towards Moodbidri rammed into the tree at Chilimbi and the force of impact seriously injured Ramananda and Subhas. They were rushed to Karkala government hospital where they were provided first aid and were being taken to Mangaluru for further treatment when the breathed their last along the way.

Karkala town police have registered a case in this regard.
