Karnataka budget session: Prohibitory orders around Vidhana Soudha from March 4 to March 30

Bengaluru: On the backdrop of the budget session of the state Assembly, prohibitory orders have been issued around the 2-kilometer radius of Vidhana Soudha here.

The prohibitory orders will be in operation from March 4 till March 30, said the order by City Police Commissioner Kamal Pant.

Section 144 of CrPC has been invoked to maintain law and order during the budget session, the order said. During the budget session, various political parties are anticipated to hold marches, protests, sit-ins, etc to meet their demands, which could public peace and order in these areas. So, the prohibitory orders will be in operation from 6 AM till 12 AM every day for 26 days, until the budget session concludes.

As per the order, a gathering of 5 or more persons is prohibited. No procession, meetings will be allowed. Carrying of any kind of arms or lethal weapons such as sticks, stones, bricks, swords, explosives, pistols, etc has been banned. Displaying any objects, replicas, posters, effigies are also prohibited. Strict legal action will be taken against those flouting the orders, the Compol warned in his order.
