Bengaluru: Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah has called a meeting of Anganwadi workers on April 10 at Vidhana Soudha to discuss the issues raised by the Anganwadi Workers’ groups. The demands by the workers including raising their monthly honorarium and other benefits are expected to be discussed in the meeting. If the meeting fails to address the issues of the workers, then the workers are likely to restart their strike urging the state government to fulfill their demands.
The concerned ministers, department officials, peoples’ representatives and leaders of various organizations of Anganwadi workers will participate in the meeting scheduled at 10 AM. Anganawadi workers’ in Karnataka have been demanding minimum monthly honorarium of Rs 10000 with other benefits. Urging the government to fulfill their demands, the workers held 24 hour strike from March 20 to 23 in the state capital.
