Karnataka  crowned Champions of IndusInd Bank Women’s National T20 Cricket Tournament for the Blind -2022

Bengaluru : The Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI) and Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled, had its Valedictory Prize Distribution of IndusInd Bank Women’s National T20 Cricket Tournament for the Blind 2022 on March 5th at Altiore Sports, Dommasandra, Huskur Road.

Dr Aruna,  C. Ramesh. Prof and HOD Emergency Medicine  Ramaiah ITLS Chief Guest  was joined by Dr Mekhala Dwarakanath B. MBBS, MS Icchaa Fertility Solutions and Diagnostics, Dr Subhash Mahajan, Mechanical Engineer, U.S.A and Dr Mahantesh G.K President CABI, Founder Managing Trustee, as Guests of Honor

Speaking at the Grand Finale of the IndusInd Bank Women’s T2 0 Cricket Tournament valedictory function Dr Aruna C. Ramesh. Prof and HOD Emergency Medicine  Ramaiah ITLS said that she was mesmerized by the performance of the  visually impaired Women cricketers and their commitment to Sports. She requested them to continue with full determination in their journey.

Karnataka won the toss and put Odisha to Bat. Odisha scored 148 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Chasing the target, Karnataka Women scored 150 runs for 5 wickets in 17 overs. Ganga scored 43 runs, Varsha scored 62 runs not out in 47 Balls. Man of the Match was   Ms. Varsha from B1 category.

14 States, 224 players and officials, 3 grounds and 21 matches played, This Tournament has provided an opportunity to the talented visually impaired    women players from various States of India  to display their sporting skills and has served as a motivation to many budding visually impaired players to pick up the game and contribute towards the blind cricket history. Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI) is looking to groom many Blind Women cricketers, based on their performance in the IndusInd Bank women’s National T20 Cricket Tournament. Performances of the players in these matches will positively pave way for their place in the Indian team in the future.

Speaking on this occasion, Mahantesh G.K. said “A huge shout-out to the blind women cricket players and the supporting units for a breathtaking performance and executing the biggest tournament in a beautiful way’’.

He further added “I am very happy that every woman cricketer who has participated in Tournament feels proud today for have given their best performance.   Cricket Association for the Blind in India will do everything possible to empower the visually impaired women cricketers irrespective of the level of cricket played. I want each one of you to bring laurels to CABI and your teams continued success in the days to come“.
