Karnataka DSDEL's online employement portal gains popularity

Bengaluru: The Department of Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Livelihood online employment seeking portal the was started recently has already seen thousands of registration by companies and employment seekers.

In the first phase, 13 companies registered on the portal interviewed 938 registered candidates and employed 59 of them.

The Department will also be making it mandatory for all major companies in the State to register on the portal, providing all information about their entity, including jobs available.

The department will also provide skills training to employment seekers according to the information received by the companies. Sources said the department is contemplating preparing a new course in higher education so that such skills can be acquired during the course of education.

Dr C N Ashwathnarayan, Minister for Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Livelihood, has stated that as there is anxiety regarding an increase in unemployment, we embarked on this new experiment and have had success with it. Our aim with this project is to prevent skilled youth from wandering for jobs.
