Karnataka Govt announces holiday calendar for 2025

Bengaluru: In a significant decision, the Karnataka State Government has approved the list of general and restricted holidays for the year 2025. The announcement followed a Cabinet meeting held on Thursday, where the official holiday schedule received final approval.

As per the new list, a total of 19 general holidays and 20 restricted holidays have been sanctioned for the year.

List of General Holidays (2025)

  1. January 14 – Uttarayana Punyakala, Makar Sankranti
  2. February 26 – Maha Shivaratri
  3. March 31 – Khutub-e-Ranjan
  4. April 10 – Mahavir Jayanti
  5. April 14 – B.R. Ambedkar Jayanti
  6. April 18 – Good Friday
  7. April 30 – Basava Jayanti, Akshaya Tritiya
  8. May 1 – Labour Day
  9. June 7 – Bakrid
  10. August 15 – Independence Day
  11. August 27 – Varasiddhi Vinayaka Vrata
  12. September 5 – Eid Milad
  13. October 1 – Mahanavami, Ayudha Puja, Vijayadashami
  14. October 2 – Gandhi Jayanti
  15. October 7 – Maharshi Valmiki Jayanti
  16. October 20 – Naraka Chaturdashi
  17. October 22 – Balipadyami, Deepavali
  18. November 1 – Karnataka Rajyotsava
