The committee will be headed by retired judge of the Karnataka high court Justice  Ratnakala. Retired Secretary of Water Resources Department B.G. Gurupadaswamy (Engineering Specialist), and retired Director of State Accounting Department K.K. Nandakumar (Financial Subject Matter expert) have been appointed as the other members.

In December last year, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai announced the decision to form such a committee for bringing transparency and controlling the wastage of public funds. “Public projects start from the time of preparing estimates. Tender conditions are prepared to benefit only a section of people. I have ordered the formation of a high-level committee,” the CM had said.

High-value tenders – Rs 50 Crore and above will be reviewed by the three-member committee.
