Karnataka govt issues official notification abolishing ACB

Bengaluru: Acting on the Karnataka High Court verdict, the Karnataka government officially notified the abolition of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) and transfer of powers to Lokayukta on Friday, September 9.

On August 11, Karnataka High Court had quashed the March 14, 2016 executive order forming the ACB. It also ordered shifting of the cases pending before the ACB to the Lokayukta.

In pursuance of the order, the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms issued the notification for the transfer of powers to the Lokayukta.
