The residents had been attending a local Daiva Kola and noticed the leopards when they returned home. The unexpected sight created panic among the villagers. The leopards reportedly left the area shortly after being spotted.

It is suspected that the leopards might have come in search of dogs and other prey animals in the vicinity. Forest department officials were alerted and conducted a search operation, but the leopards could not be located.

In a related incident, a dog belonging to Rajan Bepu was attacked and carried away by a leopard. Despite placing traps in various locations, the forest officials have yet to capture any leopards. Even CCTV cameras installed in the area have failed to record their presence.

Meanwhile, residents said they live in fear and are refraining from stepping out of their homes after dark. Parents are particularly cautious about allowing children outdoors. With several pets and other animals falling prey to the leopards, locals have urged authorities to find a lasting solution to the menace.
